I Hate the Transfer Window!!!!!

I really hate the transfer window!!!!  It’s not because I don’t think that clubs should not buy players especially those with injuries. No its the media frenzy that occurs. Instead of concentrating on the football on the pitch, everything becomes speculation off it. Who is coming, going …whether on loan or sold outright.

All this tends to distract the player’s concentration on the field and messes up the manager’s plans. By the time the dust settles, those who wanted to leave and got their wish, will play with all the freedom in the world or fall flat on their face e.g Torres. Some who stay end up playing below their potential. There are a select few like Suarez and Cabaye who make the most of a bad situation and continue to excel but these players are few and far between.

Rooney is a unique case. How he can give his all for the cause but continue pining for a transfer is beyond me. Make up your mind whether you are happy or not at the club. How about Robin Van Persie. You go to another club to win trophies. You manage to do that and then start pouting because Sir Alex retires? If Ferguson was to come back, I can guarantee Van Persie would be booted out faster than a speeding bullet cause Fergie can’t stand such nonsense. On that note, while I feel for Diaby and wish him the best in his recovery, I would not be surprised if he pulled a Van Persie and left for greener pastures when fully fit. What happened to loyalty?

So, alot of transfer speculation is going on concerning Arsenal with the latest been Serge Gnabry might be sold to Borussia Dortmund. So lets look at our team and see where we need to strengthen.

  • Keepers: Sczezny, Viviano, Fabianski
  • Rightbacks: Sagna, Jenkinson
  • Central Defenders: Mertesacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Sagna
  • Leftback: Gibbs, Monreal, Flamini
  • Midfield: Flamini, Arteta, Ramsey, Wilshere, Ozil, AOC
  • Attack: Gnabry, Podolski, Rosicky, Carzola, Giroud, Bendtner

I honestly cannot see where we need to strengthen because there are two players for every position and even back up. Not all these players will play and some will be favoured to others so where are our weaknesses? I am not saying we should not buy good players, but it is definitely not the crisis that the media is creating.

So we have been hearing in the media about Morata, the Real Madrid striker. Lets be realistic. He is untested in Real Madrid so what makes people think he will fit right in to our squad especially after Wenger has said he is not interested in him? Then we have Giovinco. A talented midfielder with a small frame. How is he meant to cope with the rigors of the Premier League. Of course this will not stop the media from mentioning him. Like I said… I hate the transfer window!!!!
