It feels like that with the current Arsenal team and the criticism they are facing at the moment. Our stag night was ‘Liverpool’.
Fail to show up and have fun and you will disappoint a lot of your friends especially those who turned up for it. Tire yourself out during this event and you will have no energy for the wedding day. Arsenal did that. They played very well but you seemed to get the feeling they left so much more in the tank. Liverpool pressed and hurried us throughout the game and while the scoreline does not lie, Liverpool should take heart from their effort. This defeat should not deflate their energy.
For Arsenal, the win means confidence is sky high. They can go and meet their bride to be(Dortmund) at the alter (Signal Iduna Park) with the hope all will go well. Signal Iduna Park
is proving to be a very daunting place to go and Arsenal will have to be at their best. Watching Dortmund dismantle their opponents on Saturday 6-0, it will be no walk in the park for Arsenal.
We have to prove our mettle and show we can play with the big boys. On the evidence of yesterday’s win, the players and manager’s bullish talk, I am quite confident we will do just that. My earlier score prediction outlines my mood ahead of the return leg on Wednesday. So with a 5 pt lead and sitting pretty at the top of the table, see you at the wedding!
